The Tula Regional Court toughened the punishment for a resident of Efremov, Alexei Moskalev, who was convicted on March 28 in the case of discrediting the army (part 1 of article 280.3 of the Criminal Code). The state prosecution demanded tougher punishment. Prosecutor Oleg Timakov said that Moskalev committed the crime in the context of an armed conflict. In this regard, in addition to two years in prison, the representative of the state prosecution asked to ban the convict from administering Internet resources for three years.
Aleksey Moskalev himself, in his last word, asked “to be sentenced to death, because he could no longer endure separation from his daughter.” “I ask you to pass a sentence on me, sentencing me to capital punishment, and carry it out as soon as possible, because every day my heart bleeds,” Moskalev said in his last word, after reading a letter from his daughter, whom he raised alone (quote from “OVD-info” (recognized as a foreign agent)).
Aleksey Moskalev, 55, was not present at the sentencing in March. He escaped from house arrest, and two days later it became known about his detention in Minsk. In April, he was extradited to Russia. At the same time, it became known that his daughter Maria was taken from the orphanage, where she was sent after her father was placed under house arrest, by her mother Olga Sitchikhina.
