The court softened the measure of restraint for the defendants in the case of theft from Chubais

The Khamovnichesky District Court of Moscow canceled a preventive measure in the form of a ban on certain actions against the defendants in a criminal case on the theft of property worth 70 million rubles from the former head of Rosnano, Anatoly Chubais, TASS reports.

With reference to the lawyer of one of the defendants, Vyacheslav Makarov, the agency clarifies that the court changed the preventive measure to a written undertaking not to leave the place and proper behavior.

“The court took into account the data on the identity of our clients, their state of health, marital status, as well as their behavior during court hearings,” the lawyer said.

In July, the Khamovniki Court of Moscow began to consider a criminal case on the theft of property from Chubais for 70 million rubles. It was reported that the defendants did not admit their guilt.

In 2017, Anatoly Chubais announced the theft of property from a residential complex in the village of Peredelki in the Odintsovo district for 3 billion rubles.

During the consideration of the case, the amount of damage declared by him decreased to 70 million rubles.

After the start of the NWO, Chubais left Russia and lives abroad.
