The Oktyabrsky District Court of St. Petersburg imposed an administrative arrest for 7 days on a woman who used a pepper spray during a conflict with the audience at the Swan Lake performance at the Mariinsky Theatre. This was reported by the joint press service of the courts of St. Petersburg in Telegram.

It is noted that the court brought to justice a resident of Moscow, Elena Bogdanchikova, for committing an offense under Part 1 of Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (petty hooliganism).

The press release of the court says that Ms. Bogdanchikova, during the conflict with the audience, in particular, expressed herself with rude obscene language in the lobby, waved her arms, insulted the citizens, and defiantly violated the order.

The defender did not dispute the fact that his client used the can, the press service reports. At the same time, he claimed that Mrs. Bogdanchikova committed this offense due to “strong mental agitation” caused by a conflict with the audience, the press release says.

The press service of the court reported that at the meeting, the daughter of Mrs. Bogdanchikova, who came to Swan Lake with her mother, was interrogated as a witness. According to her, since they could not see very well what was happening on the stage from the 17th row, they watched the ballet through the cameras of their mobile phones.

The witness stated that the theater employee asked the mother and daughter not to film the ballet, the seated man hit Ms. Bogdanchikova in the face, and the woman behind her snatched the phone from her hands, to which the mother warned that she would take out a spray can, and then sprayed it in order to self defense.

Mrs. Bogdanchikova applied pepper spray at the Mariinsky Theater on the evening of 10 June. “Swan Lake” had to be interrupted, three people asked for medical help.
