And if in public schools teaching is in Greek, then in a private school it can be in any language. “But it’s better, of course, to start learning the Greek language,” advises Pugacheva, a businessman who sent his children to Cyprus to study. “Here, knowledge of Greek is very desirable, it is the main language of communication.”

The school curriculum, in general, is not very different from the usual Russian one. Although there are new subjects: “home economics” and even religious studies. In the usual understanding, this is the Law of God. The subject is aimed at studying Orthodoxy: the majority of those living in Cyprus are Orthodox Christians. In general, this country is considered one of the most religious.

Since it is often hot in Cyprus, classes in schools start very early – from 7.45, and by 1 pm they should already end. Classes are held five days a week and the school year runs from early September to early June. True, private schools can set their own rules.

How much will it cost Harry and Lisa’s parents to go to school? The cost of studying in private schools in Cyprus is very low. From a thousand euros – up to 5-7 thousand euros per year without accommodation for junior classes. This is even cheaper than when star children went to an elite gymnasium near Moscow.
