The materials were sent to the Investigative Committee
The Primorsky Territory prosecutor’s office confirmed the fact of illegal actions on the part of employees of colony No. 10, where female prisoners were forcibly shaved bald.
As MK previously reported, the scandalous incident occurred in mid-September. Allegedly, under the pretext of fighting head lice in a women’s colony, prisoners were actually forcibly deprived of their hair. Those who resisted were beaten. At the same time, the Federal Penitentiary Service gave an official answer: there were no violent actions, the prisoners themselves wanted to get a haircut, and the haircut was done by an officially employed hairdresser from among the former convicts.
However, during the investigation, the Primorsky Territory prosecutor’s office came to the conclusion that the facts set out in the human rights activists’ complaint were confirmed. The materials were sent to the head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for the Mikhailovsky District of the Primorsky Territory to resolve the issue of criminal prosecution of the perpetrators.
