The Central Election Commission of Russia (CEC) is discussing with Russian developers of mobile devices the possibility of supplying equipment to members and employees of the commission’s apparatus for use in official purposes. July 20 at the CEC press service reported on the preparation of a document on the ban on the use of iPhone and iPad for official purposes. As of May 2023, the commission has a recommendation related to the use of Apple technology in the workplace.
“Negotiations are also underway with domestic developers of mobile devices on the supply of equipment for official use,” the CEC told TASS.
The press service noted that the owners of Apple devices will be able to participate in remote electronic voting (DEG), there are no restrictions on this issue.
Previously, employees of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and organizations subordinate to the ministry were banned from using Apple equipment for official purposes. The ban was introduced in all divisions of Rostec. Also, the Ministry of Digital Finance, the Federal Customs Service and the CEC announced the preparation of relevant orders.
