The capitals of neighboring countries overtook Moscow in terms of saturation with electric vehicles

The number of electric vehicles in Tbilisi, Yerevan and Tashkent per 100,000 people exceeds that of Moscow. This is stated in the study “Rating of Smart Cities in the CIS and Transcaucasia”, prepared by the consulting company Kept (former KPMG). Vedomosti got acquainted with the document. The data in it is presented as of June 2022.
The leader among the cities of the CIS and Transcaucasia included in the study in terms of the number of electric vehicles per 100,000 inhabitants was Tbilisi with an indicator of 114 electric cars. In Yerevan, this level is 45, in Tashkent – 33, in Moscow – 16. Minsk (63 electric cars) and Novosibirsk also overtook the Russian capital – there are 31 of them. Less than in Moscow, electric cars per 100,000 population in Baku (15), Bishkek (9) and Astana (7), as well as in Russian St. Petersburg (8), Kazan (7) and Yekaterinburg (0.4). 1st place in the Kept study was taken by London (504), in 2nd place – New York (148).
