The Russian government did not support the bill on transferring workers with many children to a four-day working week, reports TASS with reference to the Cabinet recall draft. It states that employers will have to look for employees during the absence of workers with many children, which will negatively affect the normal course of work of organizations and individual entrepreneurs.
The government added that based on the materials prepared for the bill, it is not possible to assess the socio-economic consequences of the proposed amendments.
The bill on a shortened working week for families with many children was authored by State Duma deputies from the LDPR. According to their plan, employees with three or more children under the age of 18 and before the youngest child reaches 14 years of age will be transferred to a shortened working week (32 hours).
According to an Avita Rabota survey conducted in April, 76% of Russians supported the idea of a four-day work week. According to a survey by the hh.ru service, which Izvestia published in May, more than 80% of companies considered it right to give employees an additional day off; 4% of respondents planned to implement this idea in the coming years. Head of the Russian Ministry of Labor Anton Kotyakov saidthat in the Russian Federation there is no need for a four-day working week.
