According to the source, from 2019 to 2021 the service life of the car was 24 years. Over the course of a couple of years, there was a sharp increase in operation – up to 27 years. As a result, the rate of vehicle retirement from the Russian vehicle fleet has decreased.
In addition, many motorists have begun to take more care of their vehicle, because they know that they will not be able to replace the car now. At the moment, cars that are 12.4 years old are brought in for technical inspection; in 2022, this figure was 11.9 years old.
