Details of the criminal case against actor Sergei Bazanov, who played the role of a boxer in the popular TV series “The Boy’s Word. Blood on the asphalt.” Bazanov turned out to be a former member of an organized crime group and had already been behind bars twice. And operational activities in the case of the murder of a courier in 2011 against the actor were carried out long before the premiere of the sensational drama.
As MK managed to find out, 39-year-old native of Dzerzhinsk near Moscow and resident of Lyubertsy Sergei Bazanov did not live in the era immortalized in the series by director Zhora Kryzhovnikov. However, I fully felt the aftertaste of the 80s and 90s when I joined the gang in the 2000s. According to the stories of friends, he did not hide it and did not flaunt the past, emphasizing that before “the times were like this,” but now all this is behind. Bazanov (his nickname in the Lyubertsy organized crime group was Bazik) was essentially an ordinary member of the group, carrying out small assignments. In the best traditions of the criminal world, the victims were the carriers of money, the so-called “black cash”. The calculation was simple: they wouldn’t search and the victims wouldn’t go to the police. But the gangsters miscalculated.
In 2011, the victim, courier Alexander Dzabiev, tried to fight back the attackers and was killed. According to preliminary data, there were five robbers who stole 900 thousand dollars. They fled in a car, which partly led the investigation to the robbers 12 years later. In 2013, Sergei Bazanov again became the hero of crime reports and even appeared on the screen. There was a story on TV about the detention of purse owners in a car, one of whom, the same boxer Demid, who beat the hero Philip Yankovsky Adidas in the series “The Boy’s Word,” pointed a pistol at a law enforcement officer. The weapon turned out to be converted into a military weapon, but the cartridges were found separately in the car. Sergei Bazanov, not shy of the camera, even gave a quick interview in which he blamed the police who attacked him for no reason. He received a prison sentence for the attack, but was released early. Already in 2014, Sergei Bazanov was detained for a similar robbery. Only the courier was carrying a much more modest amount of cash. Like the two previous cases, he was with a permanent accomplice and again the actor managed to be released from prison early.
Once free, the future star of a cameo role looked for work and worked part-time as a boxing coach in various sports clubs in Moscow and the Moscow region. Until one friend invited him to work part-time in the cinema. The salary, like that of other “episodic” actors, is about 15 thousand rubles per day of filming and the promise of a role in the second season of a defunct film about the peak of the crime situation of the 80s on the streets of Kazan.
Investigative Committee operatives and investigators were preparing to detain the repeat offender even before the premiere of the series. The security forces knew that their “client” was visiting the set, but in reality this had no effect. Sergei Bazanov was detained and charged with murder. He did not admit guilt, but he did not refuse to testify – he vaguely referred to the fact that he did not remember the events of those years, and now, they say, he was an actor in a famous TV series, not forgetting to ask for leniency in this regard when choosing a preventive measure for him. The specific role in that ill-fated attack on Alexander Dzabiev is not yet clear, but the investigation has no doubt that Bazanov was there. According to our information, there are at least two witnesses in the case who identified him, one of them is classified, he confirmed that Bazanov was related to the very car in which the robbers fled the crime scene.
As Yulia Ivanova, senior assistant to the head of the Main Investigative Directorate for Moscow, told MK, two accomplices in the 2011 crime were detained thanks to the joint work of investigators from the capital’s Investigative Committee and with the assistance of employees of the Main Directorate for Criminal Investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and the Criminal Investigation Department of the Internal Affairs Directorate for the Central Administrative District of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Moscow. The First Directorate for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases (crimes against the individual and public safety) is investigating a criminal case under the article “Murder committed by an organized group for mercenary reasons.” The involvement of two defendants was confirmed by the testimony of witnesses, identifications, confrontations, as well as the results of forensic examinations. The court chose a preventive measure against them in the form of detention.
