In his last speech, Tsivin spoke about bullying
Accused of stealing the property of the late artist Alexei Batalov, Mikhail Tsivin pleaded not guilty in his last speech at a meeting in the Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow.
As the MK reporter reported from the court, during his speech, Tsivin constantly complained that he had nothing to breathe and asked to open the windows, although they were already open. Earlier, his wife, another defendant, Natalia Drozhzhina, claimed that her husband had been ill in the pre-trial detention center the day before.
Tsivin devoted almost his entire speech to ill-wishers who “invent fables.” In particular, he gave examples – false accusations in an attempt to appropriate the apartments of famous artists Lidia Smirnova and Natalia Fateeva. “Now comes the final part of me and Natasha. We are talking about 40 apartments,” the accused emphasized, adding that neither in Paris, nor in Vienna, nor in London, where he visited with his wife, they did not squeeze out apartments. He added that he was given threats from the widow of Alexei Batalov, Gitana Leontenko (“I was told that she would curse me”).
Tsivin also touched upon the legal side of the matter. He stated that there were violations during the investigation – there were no confrontations with the victims, no interrogation with a polygraph was carried out, no psychiatric examination was ordered. The accused ended with an unambiguous allusion: Tsivin recalled that when he was asked what would happen if he lost the trial, he replied that he would commit suicide.
As a result, the judge decided to postpone the announcement of the verdict. It will take place on May 26th.
