It is noted that amendments adopted to the Moscow City Code on Administrative Offenses will make travel in the capital’s metro even safer.

Passengers will now face a new fine for making an emergency stop of an escalator unnecessarily. You will have to pay 5 thousand rubles for such a prank. In addition, moving around stations and crossings on any transport and sports equipment (except for wheelchairs) will cost 2 thousand rubles. Also, citizens who will be on the next train to the dead end or depot will have to pay 2 thousand rubles.

“We carefully monitor the metro infrastructure to ensure that travel always remains safe. At the same time, much depends on how well passengers themselves comply with the rules for using the metro. New changes to the Moscow City Code on Administrative Offenses are aimed at protecting the interests of law-abiding passengers and against violators whose actions may pose a threat to the health of others and the stable and normal operation of transport,” said the head of the Moscow Metro, Viktor Kozlovsky.

In addition, liability for violators may be expanded. In addition to the administrative fine required by law, passengers who cause damage to the Moscow Metro will be required to compensate the company for losses.
