Telegram may have a platform with auctions for the sale of usernames

On the basis of Telegram, a platform for the sale of usernames through auctions can be created, declared messenger founder Pavel Durov in his channel.
“Imagine how successful Telegram, with its 700 million users, could be if we auctioned reserved @usernames, group and channel links. In addition to millions of memorable t.me addresses like @storm or @royal, all four-letter usernames are available for sale (@bank, @club, @game, @gift),” he wrote.
According to Durov, other elements of the messenger ecosystem, including channels, stickers or emoticons, could also become part of this market. He noted that on such a platform, users could exchange owner names in secure transactions, while ownership would be protected through NFT-like smart contracts. “Let’s see if we can add some Web 3.0 to Telegram in the coming weeks,” Durov said.
Telegram introduced a paid subscription on June 19, which allows you to upload files up to 4 GB instead of the established limit of 2 GB, download files at a higher speed, disable embedded ads, transcribe voice messages, subscribe up to 1000 channels, pin up to ten chats, etc. Later in Premium Subscription appeared the ability to prevent users from sending voice and video messages. At the same time, the main functions remained free.
Durov informedthat the messenger will cover all costs if 3% of users subscribe to a paid subscription. This will allow the company to receive funding exclusively from users and not advertisers.
