In Moscow, MIPT hosted the conference “Artificial Intelligence in Education: Experience and Prospects”, which was attended by almost 19,000 school teachers.
They got acquainted with the course “Quick start in artificial intelligence”, designed specifically for school teachers. The course itself consists of three programs – an introduction to artificial intelligence, digitalization in a modern school, and a direct workshop on technology.
As Andrey Gorobets, Director of the Department of Digital Transformation and Big Data of the Russian Ministry of Education, noted, this project not only improves the qualifications of teachers, but also teaches them to create something new that goes beyond the locks of the educational program.
— We see a great interest on the part of schoolchildren in the development of IT disciplines. Our potential is our children, it is they who will make interesting discoveries in the future that will lead to the expansion of the fundamental foundations and inspire new achievements, – said Andrey Gorobets.
By the way, the choice of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology for the formation of the program was not at all accidental: this institute, according to its rector Dmitry Livanov, “is sharpened to train the most talented guys in the field of exact sciences.”
— Issues related to information technology are of great interest to schoolchildren, so we try to pay great attention to this issue, — said Dmitry Livanov. — The federal project gives us the opportunity to focus on the tasks related to teaching artificial intelligence technologies. The demand for skilled professionals in the IT industry is very high and requires extensive involvement of teachers. It is important for us to motivate children to master modern technologies even while studying at school.
