Students from new regions will receive Russian-style diplomas

Graduates who graduated from the universities of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR), Kherson and Zaporozhye regions in 2022 will be able to receive Russian-style diplomas. This is reported on site Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
“Citizens of Russia who graduated from the universities of the LPR, DPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions in 2022, successfully passed the state final certification, but did not receive a document on graduation, will be able to apply for Russian-style diplomas,” the message says.
For such students, special conditions are provided for passing the state final certification. The list of educational institutions that will be able to issue documents on education and qualifications will be determined by the Ministry of Education and Science.
Also, as part of the integration of new territories into the Russian educational space, students who have not completed their studies at the universities of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions will have the opportunity to continue their studies at Russian universities. For those who were expelled or stopped studying in 2022, Russian universities will be able to increase the term of study by no more than one year.
In August last year, Tatyana Moskalkova, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation statedthat students and schoolchildren who arrived in Russia from the DPR, LPR and from Ukraine will receive Russian education on a budgetary basis. According to her, after the start of the military operation, more than 557 thousand children arrived in the Russian Federation. Benefits for admission to Russian universities were also provided to the children of participants in the military operation – 10% of the total number of budget places were allocated for them.
