“I wouldn’t want Sasha to disappear”

After the start of the SVO, actor Alexander Filippenko fled to Lithuania, where he continues to live to this day. They say that in a foreign land, life is very difficult for an artist who is accustomed to big roles and substantial fees. In the artistic community they say that Filippenko feels homesick abroad: they say that he regularly thinks about Russia and often doubts the correctness of his decision.

In one of his last interviews, Filippenko indirectly confirmed this with his appearance. He looked somewhat confused and took long pauses in the conversation, carefully considering his words.

The artist’s colleague Vladimir Steklov, known for his patriotic position, admitted in a conversation with MK correspondents: he hopes that Filippenko will return to Moscow.

“I know Sasha well,” says Steklov. – I think that this (moving to Lithuania – author) was his big mistake. In any case, he is one of those people whom I remember with warmth. And I wouldn’t want it to disappear.

“Sasha did not make any harsh statements, unlike my other colleagues who are now in Israel and other countries,” Steklov continues. – I would like Sasha Filippenko to return. And not those people who pour hatred and dirt on Russia: they are on everyone’s lips, these people. But Sasha is completely different. I would like him to be at home, in Russia.

In Russia, Filippenko played in the Mossovet Theater, with which he had a contract, and was actively filming films. Abroad, the artist cannot boast of a busy schedule. He periodically goes on stage with one-man performances, but this happens rarely. The organizers say that this genre is not in great demand among emigrants.
