“Star” surgeon Otari Gogiberidze died in Moscow, reports Izvestia, citing the ex-wife of the deceased.
Yana Laputina said that the doctor died from the consequences of COVID-19.
Otari Gogiberidze suffered from coronavirus in February, after which he “recovered for a very long time, and, unfortunately, he died today,” she said on September 9.
A plastic surgeon with 28 years of experience, he graduated from RUDN University in 1995 with a degree in general medicine, and then completed his residency in maxillofacial surgery.
Gogiberidze was a member of the European Confederation of Plastic Reconstructive Aesthetic Surgery, the Russian Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (ROPRS) and a member of the board of the Society of Aesthetic Surgeons.
