Spotify streaming service released update that will add automatically generated transcripts to millions of podcasts.
Transcripts will be time-coded and listeners will be able to visually track the progress of each episode. You can read the transcript by clicking on a special button under the player. Transcriptions will also allow you to view episode content and skip episodes without listening to them. In the future, authors will be able to add media to transcripts if, for example, a particular image is discussed in a podcast. Podcasts also now have chapters that listeners can quickly navigate through. Authors will be able to add descriptions to chapters and timecodes so that users can preview topics or start listening at a specific point.
Spotify previously started test a new feature that will allow podcast authors to translate and dub their content into foreign languages in their own voice. Spotify is developing a new AI-powered feature with OpenAI, which is currently available to a limited number of podcast creators.
