Skaters from Karelia entered the top three at the North-West championship

As reported in the public page “Sport is the norm of life in Karelia,” on January 19 and 20, athletes from Karelia competed at the North-West speed skating championship.
Boys and girls aged 14-15 and 16-17 took part in the competition, which took place in St. Petersburg.
According to the results of the championship, Anfisa Vaskova became a bronze medalist at a distance of 1000 meters and a silver medalist at a distance of 3000 meters. The athlete won an honorable third place in the all-around total.
Pupils of the Sports School of the Olympic Reserve of the Sortavala region, under the leadership of Andrei Zhuikov, also confirmed the standard “Candidate Master of Sports”. The athletes were congratulated on their excellent results.
