More than nine thousand people and 75 pieces of equipment will take part in the military parade, which will take place on Red Square in Moscow on May 9. Military parades will be held in 28 cities. This was announced by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

“More than nine thousand people and seventy-five pieces of weapons and military equipment, as well as aviation from the Aerospace Forces will be involved in this event,” the minister said at a meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Defense. 50 thousand military personnel and about a thousand weapons and military equipment will take part in parades throughout Russia.

As always, the foot column will include regiments, battalions, companies according to types and branches of the armed forces, crews of participants in combat operations in Ukraine, Suvorov, Nakhimov, cadet and music schools, Youth Army members, female military personnel, Cossacks, as well as a combined military orchestra.

In preparation for the parade on Red Square on May 9 in the Moscow region relocate Yars strategic missile systems.

The May 9 parade in 2023 was attended by leaders of six countries: the presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as the prime minister of Armenia. It is still unknown which international leaders will come this year.
