September 29 – go to the bath

Many popular beliefs and signs are associated with September 29. Here are just a few of them.

In Russia, on September 29 (according to the new style), the whole family must go to the bathhouse. It was believed that this would help not to get sick all year. It was important to keep an eye on your brooms and in no case take someone else’s, so as not to pick up all the ailments of its owner. Yes, and kissing on September 29 in the bath was not advised – this foreshadowed separation.

It was not recommended to go on long trips on this day and generally start some business (go to a new place of work, sign important documents, make acquaintances, and so on) – it was believed that all this would not bring good luck.

Also on September 29, wild birds were caught and cooked, and their bones were used to determine what winter would be like: if there was a lot of fat on the bones, then the winter would be cold, and spring would come later than usual.

Pay attention to other natural signs. Let’s talk about some of them, which can be observed in the metropolis.

* Twinkling stars in the early morning – to change the weather.

* The leaves turn yellow, but do not fall – by a long autumn.

* Thunder rumbles – to a cold snowless winter.

* The starlings did not fly away – winter will not come soon.

And one more thing: try to remember what you dreamed about at night. It is believed that the dreams that occurred on September 29 are prophetic.
