Scientists admit the possibility of a laboratory origin of COVID-19. This follows from the final commission report on the coronavirus of the British Lancet magazine.
The publication of the authoritative medical publication said that at the time of publication of the report, all three hypotheses related to the laboratory origin of the virus are “still probable.” These are infection during work “in the field”, infection with a natural virus in the laboratory, and a third option – infection with a modified virus in the laboratory.
Independent researchers, as the authors of the report note, failed to conduct an investigation in US laboratories involved in the manipulation of viruses. The National Institutes of Health, the scientists write, even prevented the disclosure of details of the research they supported on similar SARS-CoV viruses.
Back in July, commission chairman Jeffrey Sachs issued a statement: the coronavirus was created artificially and, as expected, “with the help of American technology.”
The Lancet commission was created two years ago. Its goal was to study the origin of SARS-CoV-2 and develop recommendations for preventing future outbreaks of new infections.
