A team of scientists at the Kyoto Institute of Technology in Japan found that people are most likely to be happy in hotels and restaurants. About it writes a scientific journal PLOS ONE.
The researchers came to these results after they analyzed more than two million English-language tweets from people in London and San Francisco. In their analysis, scientists tried to determine not only certain locations, but also classified them according to the degree of emotions experienced. The list included emotions such as anger, anticipation, disgust, fear, joy, sadness, surprise, or trust.
As it turned out, most often people experience the most joy in hotels and restaurants. In the meantime, train stations, transport terminals, roads and bridges have become the biggest negative catalyst: here people in their records most often expressed their disgust.
In the future, the project of scientists to develop urban tourism will include not only tweets from residents of London and San Francisco, but users from other countries. The researchers also said that they plan to study records in various languages.
