Schwarzenegger wrote in the guest book of Auschwitz: I’ll be back

Renowned actor and ex-Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger made a short stop in Vienna to talk about the challenges posed by the climate crisis. As part of his collaboration with the Auschwitz Jewish Center Foundation, he also visited memorial dedicated to this concentration camp.
The actor met with Lydia Maksimovich, a Holocaust survivor, and her relatives. Schwarzenegger hugged her touchingly at the end of the meeting.
“This story must not be forgotten. It needs to be told over and over again. It is important that not only the Jewish people say “never again”. We all need to come to that conclusion,” said the 75-year-old actor.
Schwarzenegger said he fought “against hatred, prejudice and discrimination” for years. He visited the barracks, watchtowers and the remains of the gas chambers in the concentration camp.
In the guest book, the Hollywood actor left a short inscription: I’ll be back (“I’ll be back”). Memorial staff said he hinted at his return as the visit was very short.
