Schoolchildren in Russia will study UAVs as part of basic military training

Students in grades 10-11 in Russia will learn how to counter enemy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) as part of the school’s Basic Military Training (CMP) program. Schoolchildren will be told about the features of the use of UAVs on the battlefield, follows from the working program of the course.

“(Pupils will.— “b”) have an idea about the methods of combat use of unmanned aerial vehicles and conducting reconnaissance with the help of UAVs; know the algorithm for countering enemy UAVs; perform practical actions to control the UAV,” TASS cites an excerpt from the section “Module No. 3“ Fundamentals of technical training and communications ”” of the NVP course.

The module “Elements of NVP” is included in the textbooks on the discipline “Fundamentals of Life Safety” (OBZH) for grades 10-11.

At the end of 2022 in Russia was approved new school curriculum with military training lessons. According to the document, from September 1 of this year, as part of the OBZH program, students in grades 10-11 will learn how to handle a Kalashnikov assault rifle and provide first aid, as well as learn the principles of operation of the F-1 and RGD-5 grenades. From September 1, a module on the basics of military training in Russian universities may appear. students will learn to disassemble and assemble AK-74 and RPK-74 assault rifles and machine guns, a Makarov pistol, and will also be trained for the combat use of hand grenades.

And from September 1, 2024 in Russian schools instead of life safety will be introduced subject “Fundamentals of security and defense of the Motherland.” The course is currently in preparation. Both in 10th and 11th grades will be studied reasons for the special military operation.

Drone attacks from Ukraine have been carried out almost every day lately. In the past two days alone, UAVs have been detected in several regions, including Moscow and the Moscow region. On August 20, a drone damaged the railway station in Kursk, injuring five people in the attack. On the same day they tried to attack Belgorod region, Moscow and Rostov region. Today an attempted attack on Belgorod region repeated, also drones were seen in Kaluga And Moscow regions.
