Russians may not be allowed to participate in the NHL international tournament

Russian players may not be allowed to participate in the NHL international tournament, which will be held in February 2025. This statement was made by the head of the National Hockey League Players Association (NHLPA) Marty Walsh. His words were quoted by the Daily Faceoff.
He noted that there are federations that do not allow their players to participate in the tournament together with the Russians.
“You have to take all of that into consideration,” Walsh said.
Let us recall that earlier NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly stated that the National Hockey League together with the NHL Players Association are working on the creation of an international national team tournament.
Daly said the format of the competition has not yet been finalized, but it will be consistent with the World Cup, which the NHL and NHLPA held in 1996, 2004 and 2016.
