Russians have registered 318 thousand garages under the garage amnesty

Since 2021, Russians have registered more than 318 thousand garages and land plots using a simplified registration procedure, said the head of Rosreestr Oleg Skufinsky.
As RIA Novosti clarifies, over the past 2023, more than 180 thousand objects were registered, which is almost one and a half times higher than the previous year. These statistics include almost 63 thousand garages and more than 117 thousand lots. Skufinsky emphasized that this increase indicates the high interest of citizens in the registration process.
According to Rosreestr, the largest number of registered garages under the simplified amnesty are in Tatarstan, Primorsky Krai, Yaroslavl, Moscow and Leningrad regions. In terms of the number of registered land plots, the Moscow Region, Omsk, Tyumen, Saratov and Leningrad regions are in the lead.
The Law on Garage Amnesty provides citizens with the opportunity until September 1, 2026, using a simplified procedure, to register ownership of land plots and garages built on them, if they were built before December 30, 2004.
