The expert noted that children with signs of scoliosis should not swim in the pool without the supervision of a trainer who knows how to work specifically with patients with scoliosis.
“Some swimming styles provide an asymmetrical load, when the left and right limbs work in turn, and there are also elements of twisting. This can aggravate asymmetry of posture or torsion of the vertebrae in scoliotic disease,” said Babydov.
