In Russia, the percentage of people who do not believe in anything supernatural and inexplicable is growing, a VTsIOM survey showed. Over the past 20 years (from 2014 to 2024), the number of respondents who believe in fate, omens and retribution for sins has halved. The share of believers in God has increased compared to 2004, but has remained virtually unchanged since 2005 (it was 58% and is now 58%). 37% of respondents watch TV shows or videos on the Internet about supernatural abilities, sorcerers, magicians, or performances by astrologers. For comparison, in 2008 more than half of respondents (54%) were interested in them. The number of Russians who regularly or occasionally view horoscopes fell over the same period from 52% to 42%. At the same time, the share of those who know their zodiac sign increased from 88% to 97%.
