Most Russian women just want to relax on March 8

Many Russian women (46%) prefer to spend March 8 relaxing, enjoying the attention of loved ones and making pleasant surprises. This was revealed by a study conducted by Ozon and announced “Gazeta.Ru”.

Almost half of the women surveyed (44%) hope to receive flowers as a gift for this holiday, as it gives a festive atmosphere and a spring mood. However, every fifth (23%) is often left without a bouquet. More than half of respondents (55%) plan to dress up, take time for themselves and congratulate their loved ones and work colleagues on this day.

As the holiday approaches, the demand for traditional gifts increases. The largest sales volumes were seen in the Beauty & Health, Electronics and Home & Garden categories, which increased by 30%, 47% and 57%, respectively, compared to last year. The average check in these categories also increased by 8%, 2% and 13%. The most popular gifts remain dishes, home textiles, body and hair care products, as well as phones and smart watches.

The celebration of March 8th is unique for every woman. Most respondents (53%) would like to please their loved ones, and 43% would prefer to receive attention from a partner, family or friends. Some (26%) see this day as an opportunity to take time to take care of themselves, while others (18%) would like to get a makeover in a beauty salon. At the same time, almost half of respondents (46%) dream of simply relaxing. In addition, 10% of respondents expressed a desire to celebrate March 8th in the company of friends, having a bachelorette party in a spa, beauty salon or bathhouse.

According to the majority (52%), the key element of a festive look is a dress, suit or shoes. Also, the majority of respondents (60%) emphasized the importance of originality of clothing, shoes and accessories. When choosing products from the clothing, footwear and accessories category, the greatest importance is attached to the quality of footwear (26%).
