Russian schoolchildren will be taught to play bast shoes

The Ministry of Education has developed an educational course on playing bast shoes for school students. The Lapta module will be implemented as part of physical education lessons and extracurricular activities for schoolchildren from grades 1 to 11, reports press office ministries.
Lapta is a two-sided team game with a bat and a ball, which is played on a rectangular area bounded by the side and front lines.
As the press service of the department specified, the Lapta educational module was developed for the systems of primary general, basic general and secondary general education. The module was approved by the decision of the federal educational and methodological association for general education and included in the register of exemplary basic general education programs of the Ministry of Education.
In explanatory materials It is noted that “Lapta” will improve the preparation of schoolchildren for the delivery of the TRP, and young men for service in the Russian armed forces.
Decision on the introduction of a module on playing lapta into the educational program was taken following the meeting of the heads of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Sports Sergey Kravtsov and Oleg Matytsin on October 20.
