According to the law enforcement agencies of the Sverdlovsk region, a sambo wrestler and the author of a blog about a healthy lifestyle, who were engaged in the distribution of child porn and earned up to 350 thousand rubles a month each, were detained. The regional department of the Investigative Committee found out that in the Ordzhonikidzevsky district of Yekaterinburg, materials with “pornographic images of children” were stored at a number of addresses and on several websites and they were sold via the Internet.

According to the investigation, two defendants were detained in Yekaterinburg, they have already given confessions. The third defendant was detained in the Kuban. The main materials related to this criminal activity were seized as a result of searches conducted at the place of residence of the detainees: computers with software for creating and managing websites, as well as a removable hard drive.

Valery Gorelykh, the head of the press service of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, specified that the detentions took place as part of the special international operation NARSIL, initiated by Interpol. It was attended by 28 countries, including Argentina, Thailand and Bulgaria. The prosecutor’s office suspects people detained in Yekaterinburg of possessing and distributing child porn, as well as making significant profits through the sale of such content on the Internet.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the defendants in the case are two unconvicted residents of the Sverdlovsk region and one person previously convicted of a similar crime. One of the detainees has a sports category in SAMBO and is an active promoter of a healthy lifestyle on his YouTube blog. “True, from the higher educational institution where the master of sports in martial arts studied, he was expelled for poor progress,” said Gorelykh.

Also, according to him, “businessmen” used subscriber numbers, electronic mailboxes and bank cards” of people from their inner circle to create and administer sites. Profit depended on advertising traffic and site traffic. Income came from crypto wallets.

The defendants in the case face up to 10 years in prison, and all of them are in custody.
