AP: Basketball player Greiner is preparing a memoir about her time in a Russian prison
Convicted in Russia for drug smuggling and later released as part of a prisoner exchange, basketball player Brittney Greiner said she was writing a memoir about her time spent in Russian custody. The Associated Press reports about the forthcoming memoirs of an American woman.
The publishing house has already prepared a press release for publication. So, Greiner, announcing the memories of that period, says that “readers will understand why I am so grateful to people from all over the world for their support.”
The day of detention at the Moscow airport was, in her words, “the beginning of an incomprehensible period in her life”, and now she is ready to share her impressions of the Russian prison. She called 10 months in prison incredibly difficult. The basketball player also thanked everyone involved in her return to the United States.
The release of the memoirs is scheduled for the spring of 2024.
