Vice President of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) Sergey Romashkin said that the government is analyzing the situation with the cashback program for children’s travel. According to him, restarting the program is possible.
“Many public organizations are lobbying for the issue of children’s cashback, and if the government has made it clear that there is nothing to wait for the adult cashback, then there are some options for the children’s cashback. The analysis of the situation will be continued in April, we do not know the details yet,” said Sergey Romashkin “Interfax”.
According to him, the cashback program in past years “was too voluminous.” “I think we can discuss a reduction in the percentage of children’s cashback,” added Mr. Romashkin. He added that the main sales of tours with cashback came from holiday camps, and not from travel agents and tour operators.
The cashback program for children’s travel was valid from 2021 to 2022. Parents could return up to 50% of the cost of a trip to holiday camps. The maximum cashback amount was 20 thousand rubles.
