Russia entered the top 10 countries in terms of the quality of secondary education

The Ministry of Education held a collegium devoted to the results of the development of the system of secondary and secondary vocational education last year, or rather, the results of the national project “Education”.

Of the significant things that Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov announced: 252 schools have been put into operation, the third shift has been completely eliminated, the training of advisers to education directors has started – they already work in 40 regions of the country, and they are now training for the rest. Although our country is not currently participating in international monitoring of the quality of secondary education, according to the results that the guys show in the framework of the All-Russian testing works, independent examination tests and in international Olympiads, Russia managed to enter the top ten countries in terms of the quality of general education.

“Neither the pandemic nor the sanctions prevented the development of the Russian education system,” Sergey Kravtsov said. – Despite the difficult geopolitical situation in the world, the teams of Russian schoolchildren were able not only to take part in international olympiads, but also to win the maximum number of possible medals.

Among the prospects for 2023, announced at the board meeting, is the launch of programs to improve the quality of engineering education, one hundred percent provision of all preschool children up to three years of age with places in kindergartens.

– On average in Russia, the availability of this form of education is 98.2%. In 79 regions of the country, children of this age category are already provided with places in kindergartens, – said Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova.

Also this year it is planned to actively use IT technologies in the system of secondary education. According to Sergei Kravtsov, Russia will never abandon classical education, but information technology must be used where it helps the teacher and children.

The members of the board did not “forget” about the teachers either. This year, a whole series of events is planned related to the announced Year of the Teacher and Mentor. At the moment, 1.3 million people work in the education system in Russia, of which 1.1 million are teachers. And, unfortunately, only 150 thousand people are under 30 years old. That is why it is so important to raise the interest of young people in pedagogy, to attract creative, capable and active applicants to pedagogical universities, who, after graduating from a pedagogical university, will go to work in a school.

By the way, this year it is planned to create a community of ambassadors of the All-Russian competition of pedagogical workers “To educate a person”. An expert, an absolute winner or a prize-winner of the nomination of the competition of previous years can become an ambassador. The task of ambassadors is to attract as many young people as possible to the pedagogical community, to contribute to the development of the education system, and also to use the parent community in order to improve the education system.
