The Russian Premier League (RPL) and championship clubs have sent proposals for a fan card (Fan ID), said RPL President Alexander Alaev. Former President Vladimir Putin instructed by May 1, take measures to simplify the use of Fan ID.

“We worked with the clubs, prepared our proposals and sent them to our colleagues. And it is already their competence to analyze all these proposals from the point of view of the possibilities of implementation – technical, financial, security and others,” Mr. Alaev told reporters (quoted by RIA Novosti). He declared his readiness to continue to take part in the discussion of the Fan ID issue, expressing the hope that he would be able to fulfill the order given by the leadership.

“This is not the first time we have already written, unfortunately, we did not always reach out to the addressee,” the RPL president said about the efforts taken by the league on Fan ID. Alexander Alaev did not comment on the work on the fan card, which involves many government agencies, expressing gratitude that the RPL was included in it.

Fan ID is a document required when attending sporting events in Russia. You can get a Fan ID either through the “Gosuslugi” or at the MFC.

The Fan ID law came into force on July 1, 2022, and from December 1 it was extended to all Premier League matches. Against the backdrop of the widespread introduction of the fan identification system, starting from the spring part of the RPL tournament, the number of spectators in the stands is still decreased.
