Rosselkhoznadzor is finding out who threw a large number of chicken eggs into a vacant lot in the Omsk region. The regional prosecutor’s office told RIA Novosti that they would check compliance with environmental legislation.

The day before, a local resident posted a video on social networks showing dozens of blackened packages of chicken eggs. According to him, the landfill is located in the village of Chkalovsky.

Rosselkhoznadzor is finding out who owns the land plot where the landfill was found. The department stated that there had been an unauthorized dump on this vacant lot for a long time, but it was filled up.

By the end of 2023, chicken eggs increased in price by 40%; they became more expensive in 46 regions of the Russian Federation. By data Omskstat, in December, a package of 10 eggs rose in price to 114.3 rubles. President Vladimir Putin argued that the reason for the increase in prices for chicken meat and eggs was an increase in demand. In December, eggs from Azerbaijan began arriving in Russia; in January brought a batch of Turkish eggs.
