Rospotrebnadzor told us when to buy a Christmas tree so that it doesn’t fall off

Rospotrebnadzor advised buying a live Christmas tree no earlier than a week and a half before the New Year. Otherwise, the needles from the tree will fall off before the end of the New Year holidays. RIA Novosti reports this with reference to the department’s press service.
Experts recommended choosing a tree with a fairly thick and even trunk without cracks so that it can stand longer. At the same time, the branches should remain flexible, and the needles should have a rich emerald color.
Rospotrebnadzor also drew attention to the fact that a Christmas tree with one top is preferable. To avoid damage to the tree during transportation, the department advises asking the seller to pack the spruce in a plastic net.
The symbol of the New Year also does not like sudden changes in temperature. To gradually adapt to heat, it is recommended to first place the spruce in a relatively cool place for 2-3 hours – a balcony or loggia, and only after that bring it into the house and start charging it.
