Rospotrebnadzor specialists continue intensive monitoring of tritium content in sea water in Primorye, which was organized after the start of the discharge of treated water from the Japanese nuclear power plant Fukushima-1. The concentration does not exceed the established norm, the department reported, citing data from the testing laboratory center of the Federal Budgetary Institution of Health “Federal Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology” (Moscow).
Water samples examined by specialists were taken from Russky Island, the villages of Kanal and Pospelovo, Ajax Bay, as well as in the Vladivostok area. The specific activity of tritium in seawater samples was found to not exceed the lower detection threshold.
Enhanced sanitary control over fishery products from Japan by Rospotrebnadzor was introduced on July 8.
