Employees of Rosmolodezh refused to use Apple devices for official purposes, a spokesman for the organization told Vedomosti.
“In order to increase the level of security and counter cyber threats, employees of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs [Росмолодежь] and subordinate organizations have refused to use Apple devices as part of their official activities, ”the message says.
Vedomosti wrotethat over the summer, bans on the use of Apple products were introduced in Rostec, subordinate organizations of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Digital Development, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Federal Customs Service, the Federal Air Transport Agency and Russian Railways.
The presidential administration has similar restrictions on the iPhone started to operate at the end of March, Kommersant reported. This decision, the interlocutors of the publication said, was made for security reasons – Apple gadgets are more susceptible to hacking and espionage by Western countries compared to other smartphones.
In addition, as Vedomosti found out, the ban on the use of Apple equipment during the performance of official duties was introduced in the summer and in the Ministry of Education and Science.
Restrictions also began to be introduced in the regions. In particular, as a representative of the government of the Novgorod region told Vedomosti, officials are not recommended to conduct official correspondence and conversations on Apple technology.
