Shadayev spoke about Ukraine’s attempts to jam the satellite TV signal in Russia

The Ministry of Digital Development and other Russian agencies are fighting Ukraine’s attempts to jam the signal of satellite broadcasting in Russia. This was reported to journalists by the head of the ministry Maksut Shadayev.

“There is a lot of work going on there. For us now, it is probably more relevant that the Ukrainian side is trying to jam the reception on our satellites. It is not the issue of protection that is currently relevant there, but the issue of trying to counteract the spread of a television and radio signal on our territory, on our satellites, ”said Shadayev (quote according to TASS).

Shadayev noted that the ministry is working to counter this problem. All decisions have been made and are “in the circuit of another department,” he added.

Vedomosti wrotethat the Ministry of Digital Development has begun to coordinate the search for reliable protection of the satellite television signal, which has been replaced by intruders more than once recently using high-power antennas.

One of the most notable cases of satellite signal substitution occurred in early March 2023, when on the air of TNT4, Subbota and 2×2 TV channels of the Gazprom-Media Entertainment Television holding (GPM RTV), satellite broadcast subscribers were shown false alarm messages, they wrote ” Vedomosti”. As the sources of the publication explained at the time, this became possible due to the fact that with the help of a more powerful signal that came from the territory of Ukraine, the signals of the TV channels that came from the satellite to satellite broadcast subscribers were replaced with a third-party video sequence.

To resolve the issue, it may be necessary to simplify legal procedures and switch to domestic software, Vedomosti’s interlocutors noted.
