Rosfinmonitoring added journalists Rogan and Ashton-Cirillo to the list of extremists

Rosfinmonitoring has added to the list of extremists and terrorists. The list included 31 people. Among them are American journalists Sarah Ashton-Cirillo, Tom Rogan, Hugo Gurdon and Dnepr Mayor Boris Filatov, indicated on website departments.

Tom Rogan and Hugo Gurdon work for the American magazine The Washingtone Examiner. In May 2018, Mr. Rogan published an article in which he called for the destruction of the Crimean Bridge by airstrikes. In the article, he called the bridge “a blatant insult to Ukraine as a nation.”

American journalist Sarah Ashton-Cirillo was appointed as the official English-speaking representative of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in August 2023. She was suspended from office at the end of September after the publication of X threats against Russian journalists on social networks.

In September 2023, the Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested the mayor of the Ukrainian city of Dnepr Boris Filatov in absentia, RIA Novosti reports. Previously, a criminal case was initiated against the head of the city. According to the Investigative Committee, Mr. Filatov published a post on social networks with calls to “kill Russians around the world.”
