Road slabs made from tires were used in the construction of residential complexes in Moscow

The products of the capital’s company Nanotechnological Center for Composites are used for the first time in the construction of a residential complex. The products made it possible to organize the access of heavy equipment to the construction site. Details were provided by the Moscow Government Minister, Head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, Vladislav Ovchinsky.
“The products are in high demand when implementing important infrastructure projects, including those related to the construction of residential complexes. Thus, during the construction of one of the capital’s residential complexes in the TiNAO, rubber road slabs were used, which allow the movement of vehicles and heavy equipment during the construction period practically without preparatory work,” said Vladislav Ovchinsky, noting that the company supplies the capital and 60 regions of the country with materials. The company produces up to eight thousand slabs annually.
Rubber road slabs are less susceptible to wear and tear than concrete ones and retain their useful qualities in any season. The high coefficient of friction allows you to maintain the shape of the created platform. Slabs measuring 4×2 m weigh 950 kg.
“The slabs are laid without preparing the soil base, which can significantly reduce time and labor costs during the construction of temporary driveways. The products are made from recycled car tires, which makes them three times lighter than concrete and helps solve the problem of tire disposal,” added Evgeniy Rafailov, head of the company’s Sales Department.
