Japan explained the cessation of sales of a popular antibiotic in Russia
The decision of the Japanese pharmaceutical company Astellas to stop selling the antibiotic josamycin (vilprafen) in Russia has nothing to do with sanctions against the Russian Federation and the situation around Ukraine. RIA Novosti reports this with reference to a company representative.
According to the agency’s interlocutor, the decision to stop selling the drug in Russia and on the world market was made back in 2020.
Earlier, the Ministry of Health said that the remains of the antibiotic with the active substance josamycin in medical organizations will last for about six months, and it can be replaced with drugs with a similar effect, with which there are no interruptions.
