Residents of Russia observe the northern lights

Residents of the Urals, Siberia, some regions of central and southern Russia, as well as Ukraine post photos on social networks that depict the northern lights. The cause of the phenomenon was flares on the Sun, after which a coronal ejection flew to the Earth, which created a strong magnetic storm, scientists explain. The degree of disturbance in the Earth’s magnetic field has reached G3 (the highest is G5). This means that problems may arise in energy systems, interruptions in navigation and satellite communications.
