The family of deputy Vadim Belousov filed a missing persons report, TASS reported, citing law enforcement agencies and his lawyer. Earlier, Belousov was sentenced to 10 years in a strict regime colony in the case of a bribe in the amount of 3.25 billion rubles.
“Vadim Belousov’s relatives filed a corresponding complaint with law enforcement agencies about the disappearance of the deputy, whose whereabouts have not yet been established,” a TASS source said. The lawyer of Vadim Belousov, Lyudmila Aivar, confirmed this information, refusing to comment in detail.
In August, the Moscow City Court found Vadim Belousov guilty of taking a bribe in the amount of 3.25 billion rubles. He was sentenced to 10 years in a strict regime colony and a fine of 500 million rubles. The judge ordered that he be taken into custody in the courtroom in absentia. Belousov did not appear at the meeting, citing being busy. August 19 became knownthat Vadim Belousov was put on the federal wanted list.
Vadim Belousov should also participate in the election of the head of Udmurtia. The CEC of the republic registered him as a candidate on July 28. On August 4, after the verdict, the head of the Central Election Commission of Russia, Ella Pamfilova spokethat there are no grounds for removing him from the election of the head of the republic. By September 7, Belousov is still one of the candidates for the post of head of Udmurtia.
