RBC: demand for specialists with knowledge of Chinese in 2022 increased by 70%

In 2022, the demand for Chinese-speaking specialists in Russian companies has grown by 70% compared to 2021. In January-March 2023, the indicator also increased by 42% in annual terms. This was reported RBC with a link to data from the job search service HeadHunter.
In total, in 2022, Russian companies posted 7.6 thousand vacancies, where the requirements for applicants indicated knowledge of the Chinese language. According to HeadHunter, this is 45% more than in 2019 and 70% more than in 2021.
In January-March 2023, employers posted 3.8 thousand such vacancies, which is 42% more than in 2022. The most demanded were specialists from the transport and logistics sector, sales and production.
At the same time, in the first quarter, applicants with knowledge of Chinese posted 33,000 resumes, which is nine times more than the number of such vacancies. Most often, such applicants are looking for work as translators, salespeople and teachers.
The growth in demand for specialists with knowledge of Chinese was also noted by the job search portal SuperJob, writes RBC. According to them, in 2022 the number of such vacancies has doubled. Chinese has become the second most used language in the labor market after English.
