Two sections of the federal highway M-4 “Don” are designed to unload the entrances to Rostov-on-Don and Krasnodar from the transit traffic. The project is being implemented on behalf of the President of Russia as part of the development of long-range automobile approaches to the Crimean bridge. The construction of the 65-kilometer eastern bypass of Aksai, a satellite town of Rostov-on-Don, as well as the 51-kilometer western bypass of Krasnodar, was completed ahead of schedule.
Vladimir Putin, addressing the participants in the opening of new road facilities, noted that modern high-speed routes would improve the connectivity of territories, significantly reduce the time for tourists who go on vacation to the resorts of the Crimea and Kuban, and generally increase the transport, industrial, agricultural, and economic potential of the regions of southern Russia .
