Putin instructed to resolve the issue of financial incentives for mentoring

Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to develop a concept for the development of mentoring in the country for the period until 2030.

The federal government is instructed, with the participation of commissions of the State Council of the Russian Federation and employers’ associations, to develop an appropriate concept.

It is also necessary to submit proposals for introducing amendments to the labor legislation of the Russian Federation, providing for the possibility of material incentives for mentors.

The order must be completed by June 1, and the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Mikhail Mishustin, has been appointed responsible for its implementation.

Earlier, Vladimir Putin called the most important issue the improvement of the teacher remuneration system, which should be fair – teachers’ work should be paid according to uniform, understandable and transparent rules. In particular, the president demanded a noticeable increase in the incomes of teachers in those regions where they are significantly lower than the national average.

The head of state also proposed establishing an annual “Mentor of the Year” award and instructed to legislatively provide for additional payments for mentoring, calling on do not turn mentoring in Russia into “coercion”.
