The NTV television channel responded to Ksenia Sobchak’s intention to sue him by publishing a statement in social network “VKontakte”.

The channel’s statement speaks of Ksenia Sobchak’s demand to restore her discredited honor, as well as the need to provide the results of an examination of her honor and dignity when going to court.

On February 10 and 11, NTV showed two episodes of an investigative film about Ksenia Sobchak in the programs “Emergency. Investigation” and “New Russian Sensations”. The films touched upon both the personal aspects of the journalist’s life and her socio-political activities. The video description mentioned “political myopia” and Sobchak’s statements about Moscow and Ukraine.

On February 12, Ksenia Sobchak announced her decision to file a lawsuit against NTV for libel, protection of honor and dignity, as well as possible litigation over the “theft” of content from YouTube and social networks.

Sobchak called the programs dedicated to her “a desperate attempt to put an owl on the globe” and expressed indignation at the mention of her father in films. She also did not agree with the presentation of information about the case of her employees accused of extortion from the head of Rostec.

Ksenia Sobchak emphasized that she did not refuse to pay for the services of lawyers for those involved in the case and was not herself under investigation, despite the way this information was presented in films on NTV.
